The Victorians loved jewels inspired by ancient and distant cultures. During the 19th century Etruscan, Egyptian, Greek, Gothic and Renaissance Revivals all affected jewelry design and the decorative arts. This brooch is a wonderful example of Egyptian Revival jewelry.
![]() The back of the brooch is well constructed with a sturdy, straight pin stem and double-loop "C" clasp. Note the thickness of the gold which provides a safe base for the beautiful enamel work and small diamonds. The gold surfaces are polished to a rich golden glow. Name: Egyptian Revival! |
