Acorns and Oak Leaf Stickpin
Acorns and Oak! |
|
An oak leaf and two acorns suspend from a small branch. The oak leaf is beautifully enameled with shimmering shades of green, yellow and pink. The acorns are set with two small pearls. Crafted in 18kt and 14kt gold, circa 1900.
During the Art Nouveau era beautiful enamel jewels were created following natural themes. This stickpin bears a small hallmark indicating that it was imported into Vienna, Austria in the early 1900s. Possibly of French or American origin, this stickpin is a wonderful example of the nature-inspired jewels of the era. The photograph below illustrates the care with which the stickpin was created. Note the sturdy wire that supports the enameled oak leaf and the "acorn caps" that secure the pearls. The small "smudge" on the left side of the pinstem is the Austrian import mark. Cost: $625 | ![]() |
