Beautiful antique cufflinks featuring fine Moss Agates with the appearence of dark green seaweed floating in sunlit water. The oval Moss Agates are set in 14-karat yellow gold. Created by Sansbury & Nellis, circa 1920.
![]() In the decades around 1900 jewelers and jewelry lovers embraced the mysterious, protean beauty of Moss Agates. In no small part inspired by the efforts of George Kunz, Tiffany & Company's famous gemologist, there was a growing interest in lesser known, exotically beautiful gemstones. These Moss Agates are a wonderful example.
![]() Well crafted cufflinks are beautiful from every direction. The backs of these cufflinks are crafted in 14kt yellow gold polished to a bright finish. The cufflinks are secured on the cuff with sturdy cross bars, stirrup connectors and strong strap brackets.
Sansbury & Nellis was a maker of fine cufflinks and gold jewelry during the early decades of the last century. The firms's maker's mark ("S-N") is visible on the reverse of the cufflinks along with "14-K" for the purity of the gold.
